3.12, due October 8

This was a simple enough section.  It wasn't exactly clear to me how the theorem presented in the section actually applies to continued fractions.  An explanation of that would be helpful.

It was helpful that the authors indicated that numbers used to construct a continued fraction can be obtained by doing the Euclidean algorithm and taking the partial quotients from each step.  This seems to be a very interesting and intuitive way to construct continued fractions.
